Youthful Passion.

I thought to try translating directly from the Mañyoushuu again. A while ago I had downloaded 8 waka: 03 - 315/316/318/320/321/323/325/326, somewhat randomly. I had tried out 315, 316 and 321, but I wasn't that satisfied with the results. So I restarted with 326. Wow, such honesty !! The following is the somewhat less explicit version. The literal version you may read at the end of the notes. Waka is a very playful form of verse. The hiragana is the spoken version and the kanji complements that version through interchanging homonyms (mostly > -ba and -sha). Well, enjoy !!

Sitting up all night
on the side of a lit fire
I look out across the bay:
oh how I wish to go to my love
for blissful sex again !!

Translation: 白狐

[Mañyoushuu 03 - 0326]

The kanji:

見渡者
明石之浦尓
焼火乃
保尓曽出流
妹尓戀久

The hiragana:

みわたせば
あかしのうらに
ともすひの
ほにぞいでぬる
いもにこふらく

The Romaji:

mi-watase-ba
akashi no ura ni
tomosu hi no
ho ni zo idenuru
imo ni kofu-raku.
