Inner entanglement.
[394.] Kiṃ te jaá¹Ähi dummedha kiṃ te ajinasÄá¹iyÄ
Abbhantaraṃ te gahaṇaṃ bÄhiraṃ parimajjasi.
What use is your nicely tangled hair,
you fool, what use your cheetah fur ?!
Internal is your entanglement,
yet the external you cherish !!
Wat nut jou je gevlochten haar,
dommerik, en wat je cheetahbont ?!
innerlijk is de vervlochtenheid,
jij slechts verzorgt het uiterlijke !!

[395.] Paṃsu-kūla-dharaṃ jantūṃ kisaṃ dhamani-santhataṃ
Ekaṃ vanasmiṃ jhÄyantaṃ tam-ahaṃ brÅ«mi brÄhmaṇaṃ.
Robe of rags wearing, body lean and veiny,
meditating alone in the forest,
that one I call a brahman.
Translation: 白ç‹
Point 1 > the Buddha didn't wear "a robe made of rags" !!
Point 2 > this conflicts with "BhaddÄ's yellow robe."
Before she became a bikkhuni and received from a lay-devotee her yellow cīvara ['tsji:-vø-rø], she roamed around as a Jain ascetic in a cloth made of bark fibres as a sign of poverty. Gaining sympathy through unnecessary and self-harming poverty is contrary to
the Middle Way !!
"dirt-heap(-rag)-wearing (acc.) creature/body (acc.) emaciated/lean (acc.)
covered-(acc.)-with-veins // alone (acc.) in-forest (loc.) meditating (acc.)
that(-one) (acc.) I (nom.) call-I brahman (acc.)"
