About today

The painting I wanted to paint
is of my past year.
With one half brightly lit,
the other, half in shadow
Impressionistic.

The letter I wanted to write
is of my past year.
Forming words through my cracked lips,
formulating the thoughts that traveled with them.
Words trying to find a way, how this day made me feel.

The song I wanted to sing
is of my past year.
A song of love as haunting as the moon that came before you.
So strong that everything with tidal force, is now rushing back.
A song of hope that will gently lift you
with a voice that made the clouds come nearer,
trying to bring my life to life, by singing.

The feeling I want to express
is of the present.
A new life reached my shores over the last couple of months.
The love traveled through the galaxy of starbursts to find me
across my blurred vision.
Of what love is
and what it used to be

What could I say?
At this moment.
One year exactly before these burning flames,
seeing the old and the new in the ashes,
take a flight with me today to see who I am.
I’m writing and singing again,
come and dance with me,
fulfilling my dream and be free.
From this moment on I’ll be strong,
wiser and more open,
loving and kind,
keeping the earth below my feet.

I will be who I want to be,
and it will heal my scars,
sadness will be far away,
stay true to myself.
Above all, I will watch with glittering eyes the whole world around myself,
because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places,
If I don't believe in magic I will never find it.
