Good-bye to a friend
[On a spring night saying good-bye to a friend]
silver candles throw up purifying smoke
golden cups we raise sitting on a damask mat
in this parting hall memories are plucked like strings
the road of our separation winds over mountains and rivers
the bright Moon hides away behind tall trees
Heaven's River is outshone by the Sun at dawn
the road to Luòyáng is long and winding
what year will we meet again here
