It's perhaps the biggest struggle that I experience as a teenager: Being realistic whilst having goals. The fact is, as a child (or: a developing person) you are not as smart and wise as you will become. From this you can make up that anything you make and anything you do is not done with your maximum capabilities, and all you have achieved is not worth looking back to, from a qualitative perspective. So, we wonder, is it worth it to make or do anything at this agi? If all we do is developing, then does that mean that so far my life ahs been just an experiment? Well, indeed it has been. And that is all it is, all it will ever be. You shouldn't let that get you down though. You'll find that when you're old and out of energy, you'lll still see all you achievements as imperfect, but when you die, do you want to look back and see a trail of small achievements, of changes, phases towards the human you are now? Or do you accept being an unchanged entity, just so you won't waste time? |
